What do you think about the proposed changes? What can be done to make it work for everyone?

Not sure I like the look of the new plan. Removing the overpass for Middlesex Street disconnects a portion of the Highlands from Downtown. The idea of Westford Street to Grand Street to Middlesex Street seems like a real stretch of an alternate route.
I'd like to see Appleton and Middlesex turned back into one way streets and have Jackson become two way.
Or perhaps see Appleton and Jackson one way and keep Middlesex stay two way.

JAM area downtown residents, the City is conducting a JAM residents survey, similar to the one that was done of downtown residents a couple of years ago. The survey forms are being distributed to various residential buildings, as well as notices of an on-line version being posted at retail locations in the area. Given the new garage and the Hamilton Canal District development, the survey presents an opportunity to learn more about JAM residents and solicit their opinion on types of retailers that the City should be pursuing for the retail space in the new garage. Folks have the option of filling out hard copies or an on-line form, but we highly encourage people to complete the on-line version to facilitate the tabulation of the results. The on-line survey form can be accessed by going to www.lowellma.gov/jamsurvey. Hard copies will be collected on January 31. The on-line verision will be up until February 15.
